Bruntwood Achieves Gold Level Sustainable Cleaning Goals
Bruntwood is a real estate company committed to creating a sustainable and fair future. They launched a comprehensive program using the best quality innovations in their cleaning processes to reduce chemical usage, eliminate single-use plastics, conserve water, and reduce transportation volume to achieve the "Gold Level of Cleaning" standard.
By 2030, Bruntwood will begin implementing Net Zero Carbon operations across all directly controlled areas and new construction projects for major development. The company aims to become a Net Zero carbon business by 2050 by reducing both direct and indirect environmental impacts.
"After conducting research and consulting with multiple suppliers over several months, we reached a unanimous conclusion recommending the Tersano system, which uses stable aqueous ozone (SAO) for completely sustainable cleaning. This system makes cleaning simpler while reducing chemical usage. This supports our sustainability goals by reducing orders for single-use materials and chemically contaminated plastics, decreasing deliveries to work sites, reducing carbon footprint, and minimizing risks for us and our employees when working with chemicals," said Simon Durbin, Operations Director of Bruntwood.
Following successful trials, Bruntwood installed 25 SAO dispensers within six months, helping them significantly achieve their sustainability goals.
"Tersano reduces procurement system maintenance time in warehouses and provides a safer working environment. It starts operations with a much simpler system for both existing and new employees who don't need to spend time learning about each type of chemical we use. This is especially beneficial for new employees. We have limited cleaning supply storage space in many of our buildings, and there's no longer any need to store any chemicals," said Kayleigh Pugh, Regional Building Manager of Bruntwood.
Reducing Direct and Indirect Environmental Impact
Within Bruntwood's cleaning operations, top priorities include reducing cleaning chemical usage, single-use plastics, and related packaging, along with opportunities to reduce substitute products and transportation emissions to work sites. SAO provides the high cleaning standards that Bruntwood's customers demand.
