"My Child is Allergic to All Chemicals" - A Parent's Voice That Should Not Be Ignored

As caregivers, parents, or teachers in Thailand, we often hear this phrase, especially in early childhood centers, kindergartens, or even in ordinary family homes with young children who have high environmental sensitivity.

Even though many products are labeled as "organic" or "safe for children," in reality, some children still experience allergic reactions, skin irritation, or show symptoms of respiratory conditions such as asthma or chronic cough due to invisible chemical residues.

Young children have underdeveloped immune systems, breathe faster, and use their hands to touch various surfaces in close contact with their bodies. Using cleaning products that contain even small amounts of chemicals can have long-term effects.

Cleaning products labeled as "gentle" may still contain fragrances, alcohol, or other volatile substances that leave residues on surfaces, whether it's dining tables, toys, or classroom floors, which become risk factors that should not be overlooked.

A Safer Alternative Approach

One technology that is gaining attention in Thailand and worldwide is the use of Stabilized Aqueous Ozone (SAO), an innovation that transforms ordinary water into effective cleaning and disinfecting water without chemical residues, no disturbing odors, and no irritation to skin or respiratory system.

Stabilized aqueous ozone is suitable for places with young children, such as:

  • Child development centers and kindergartens
  • Pediatric hospitals
  • Homes for children with chronic conditions or allergies
  • Shelters or charitable organizations caring for children

ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) testing in several schools in Thailand found that chemical residues on surfaces of dining tables or children's toys had levels higher than acceptable hygiene standards, even with regular cleaning.

Cleaning should not come at the cost of children's health. In an era where we are increasingly aware of safety and health, choosing cleaning methods that don't rely on chemicals is one of the important approaches to creating a safe and sustainable environment for all Thai children.

If you have a role in caring for children or work in places with many children, cleaning technology using SAO should be seriously considered.
